Ever since I discovered theatrical design in high school, I have been drawn to it because of the way it allows me to share worlds I can envision that are different than the one I know; worlds that would have otherwise been limited to my imagination alone. I was drawn to lighting design in particular because of its ethereal quality: an ability to both simulate physical, tactile forms, and yet also transcend the limits that restrict those forms when the need arises.
